We’re excited to announce a brand-new extension of what we love doing at Rocky Mountain Olive Oil – creating unique experiences and celebrating high-quality products - with Mountain Glow Candle Co.
We’re now making our own signature candles using soy wax, olive oil, and essential oils, available both in our shops and online. But that’s not all— we’re also offering unique hands-on candle-making experiences right here in Fort Collins!
Our candle making sessions take place in the back section of our Fort Collins shop. During the experience, guests get to choose their own candle vessel and scents, then wick their candle, mix their very own fragrance, customize the label and pour the wax. Once finished, the candles are left to set and can be picked up the next day or shipped home. While the candle chemistry unfolds, guests can enjoy refreshments (fresh popcorn and sparkling water) flavored with Rocky Mountain Olive Oil products.
The journey to Mountain Glow has been a long one. Way back in 2009 (AH!) I was gifted a candle-making kit for my birthday. I used the kit and became obsessed. The process of blending scents, melting the wax, pouring the candle – it’s soothing and deeply personal. What began as a casual candle-making hobby quickly transformed into a mini-business of selling handmade candles at local craft markets.
I wanted to do more then, to dive in head first and grow my candle-making business into something more, but the timing just wasn’t right. I was fully employed; I was immersed in family, hectic life, hobbies, and other adventures.
Fast forward to 2025, and the time was finally right.
My candle business dream became a reality – in an even more amazing way than I could have ever imagined. What started as a simple gift has now become Fort Collins' premier candle-making bar, where locals and visitors alike can create their own custom candles. It’s been a long journey, but seeing people light up with excitement as they craft their own candles makes it all worthwhile.
