If you’re anything like me, you know how essential it is to have easy, great-tasting snacks that you can whip up in a matter of minutes. For our family, that often comes in the form of popcorn.

Whether it’s family movie nights, game day parties or even school lunches, there is always a way to jazz up popcorn to fit the vibe. One of our staff even hosted an event with a DIY popcorn bar where guests could flavor their own popcorn treats with our oils and seasonings. It was quite the hit!

We carry nearly a dozen different popcorn seasonings perfectly tailored to flavor freshly made popcorn, whether you are feeling cheesy, spicy or sweet.

When we make homemade popcorn, we typically pop ½ a cup of kernels in 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil. Once popped, we drizzle it with a few more tablespoons of olive oil and sprinkle liberally with popcorn seasoning. A detailed recipe and a list of our favorite flavor combos are below.

And for the days you aren’t feeling up for pulling out a pan for homemade popcorn, you can easily add oil and seasoning to flavor microwave popcorn!

The Perfect Homemade Popcorn

INGREDIENTS:

• 7 Tablespoons of your favorite Rocky Mountain Olive Oil Flavored Oil
• ½ cup popcorn kernels
• 3 Tablespoons Grind Spice Co Popcorn Seasoning

INSTRUCTIONS:

In a large, heavy bottom pan, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Place 3-4 of the kernels into the oil. Cover the pan with a lid and wait for the test kernels to pop, then you are ready to add the remaining kernels.

Add the remaining kernels to the pan in an even layer and recover with the lid. Remove the pan from the heat for 30 seconds, then return the pot to medium heat.

Using hot pads, grab the pan and gently shake it. As the kernels pop tip up the lid slightly to allow steam to escape.

Cook the popcorn until you hear the popping slow down (several seconds in between pops) and immediately remove the pan from the heat.

Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the popcorn and then pour into your serving bowl(s). Then, while still hot, sprinkle the popcorn with your favorite seasons gently mix with a spoon to evenly coat the popcorn.

Dive in and watch it disappear!
