Spooky Season Snacks

Spooky season is back and better than ever!

It’s no secret that fall is our favorite time of year, and Halloween is a highlight of the season.

I’ve shared before that my family has many specific Halloween traditions, including throwing a pumpkin carving pizza party (say that 5 times fast!). And we always make time to get innovative at the bar with fall-themed ingredients.

We also get to celebrate Halloween in our stores! Both Westminster and Fort Collins throw some epic trick or treat events, which gives us the opportunity to showcase our products in some delicious treats. There’s nothing better than handing out goodies and checking out everyone’s creative costumes. I’m a sucker for little kids dressed up as their favorite animal or superhero and for all the creative DIY costumes folks come up with.

At this year’s Halloween events, we decided to hand out a more savory snack to balance out the sweet - our take on the classic “popcorn ball” - freshly popped popcorn drizzled with Butter Infused Olive Oil and Salted Caramel Popcorn Seasoning. Yum!

Here are some of our other favorite Halloween nibbles. We promise that they’re hauntingly delicious!

Perfect Pumpkin Bread: Quick to make and even quicker to eat, this pumpkin bread makes the perfect treat on cool autumn mornings. Serve drizzled with Cinnamon Pear Balsamic or Chocolate Dark Balsamic for an extra dash of sweetness!

Vegan Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies: I am a shameless pumpkin spice fan, so this is the perfect recipe for me. It combines a classic chocolate chip cookie with our autumnal Pumpkin Spice White Balsamic. The best part? This recipe is vegan and can easily be made gluten free!

Pomegranate Balsamic Roasted Chickpeas: For those looking for a break from the sweet, here is a more savory, salty Halloween snack. Roasted chickpeas are an amazing blank canvas that can be flavored with any sort of spices, oils or balsamics you like. For this recipe, we used two classic harvest flavors, pomegranate and rosemary, which create a slightly sweet and herbaceous crunchy snack. I suggest doubling or even tripling this recipe to make it last!

Blood Orange Spiderweb Brownies: No Halloween celebration would be complete without a sweet and spooky treat. Decorated with white chocolate spiderwebs, these brownies are flavored with B L O O D (orange).

Boo Crew Punch: This one is something for the kids... or the adults. It's a choose your own adventure kinda drink. The blood red cauldron bubbles and boils, releasing eerie looking smoke all over the room, just like you would imagine a witch's cauldron doing. On it's own, it's a fun little fruity punch for kids, but it can easily be turned into some adult fun by adding rum. So much fun for everyone and definitely the most impressive looking!

Check out more fiendish cocktails and mocktails in last year’s Halloween blog.

Happy Halloween!
